SIXTEEN WAYS OF THE SHAMAN

Sixteen audio-visual sequences can be triggered by hitting a pictogram along the edge of the drumhead:

Castaneda's The teachings of Don Juan
Joska Soos Hungarian urban shaman
Itako Japanese blind woman as spiritual messenger
Robert-Jasper Grootveld anti-smoke magician
Vitrine cannibalism of museums
Globalisation of the idea of shamanism since Eliade
Trance dance
Mudang Korean shamans
Ainu
Winti from Surinam
Saint Nicolas as a shaman
Nicolaas Witse's story of a 17th century Siberian shaman
Voodoo

And three new sequences:

The shadow world of wajang
The aboriginal inspiration in Western culture
Midsummer ceremonies in modern Germany

DRUMS OF THE FOUR WINDS

When one hits the centre of the drum the pictograms change and one can access drum sounds from the four winds and related drumhead images or decorations of the sides of the drum.

At first the drumhead transforms into the part of the globe from where the drum music is coming, after this the ambience pictures of playing the drums and drum decorations are shown.

In many cultures drumhead pictures also function as maps to other worlds.
